Fee Schedule
| |
Regular fee for all clients is increasing from $100 per session to $120 per session; this will not change the copay for current clients with insurance policies. Out-of-pocket discount fees will no longer be available for new clients and clients returning after 1 year. A limited number of sliding scale fee sessions will be available, starting at $40 per session; not all counselors offer this option. Fees and session length for counseling sessions will be agreed upon before sessions begin. Payments in cash, check, credit card, debit card, and PayPal are accepted and are due at the beginning of each session; if an insurance company is to be billed, copays are due at the beginning of each session. Checks with insufficient funds are assessed a $25 fee. For current clients, this fee schedule remains in effect as long as counseling continues. For returning clients, this fee schedule remains in effect for one year after the last counseling session. If you have a health insurance policy with mental health coverage, please check with your insurance company about whether services at the Counseling Hut are covered by your policy. We would be happy to bill your insurance company; you will be responsible for any amount that is not covered by your policy. Statements can be mailed to your billing address on a calendar month basis. Please see "Monthly Billing" below for our billing policy. The regular fee per session is $120. Sessions may be scheduled for 50 or 80 minutes, and the fee is the same regardless of session length. As of January 1, 2016, out-of-pocket fee sessions are no longer available for new clients and clients returning after one year. A limited number of sliding-scale fee sessions are available; not all counselors offer this option. If the client has an insurance policy but does not wish to bill them for services, the sliding-scale fee is $40. Otherwise, the sliding-scale fee is calculated as 1/1000 of the client's annual household income, with $40 minimum and $120 maximum. As of January 1, 2016, introductory fee sessions are no longer available for new clients and clients returning after one year. As of April 1, 2009, nominal fee sessions are no longer available for new clients and clients returning after one year. You may choose to be billed on a calendar month basis if you can provide a proof of address. Late payments are assessed a 1% interest on overdue balance each month. With clients who have outstanding balances for three consecutive billing periods, counselor will discuss whether counseling services may continue. Clients who have outstanding balances for six consecutive billing periods may be referred to a collection agency. Bills will be sent by USPS first class mail. There is no cancellation fee. We would appreciate it if you can give at least 1 hour advanced notice if you need to cancel. If you miss two appointments in a row, your time slot may no longer be reserved for you. Checks with insufficient funds are assessed a $25 fee.
